Dear Lili,

I had a dream about you last night. I was down in Florida at Nonnie and Poppie’s house. In the dream, they were still alive and we were having a family get-together. Then the phone rang and Nonnie said it was you! I picked up the phone and talked with you for the first time in over seven years. You told me that it was good for families to be together at holiday time. I asked you if you remembered coming to Florida and going to Disney World with me, and you said you did. In your voice I could hear that you wanted to see your Daddy again.

But then I woke up and realized that it was all a dream. I’ve had that kind of dream before where you and I are family again, but upon awakening I discover of course that it wasn’t real. These are what I call the “Good Dreams Gone Bad”. And when they happen I always wake up with tears in my eyes.

I miss you so much, bubby. I wish you could look into my heart and see just how much I love you.
